The Hook is the official publication of the Empire State Towing and Recovery Association. First published in 1983, The Hook was awarded the prestigious "People's Choice Award" by Tow Times in 2001 and 2002, getting the nod for "Most Informative Association Newsletter and "Most Innovative State Association Newsletter," respectively.

The newsletter features industry-related news and events, legislative/legal updates, towing and recovery strategies, safety tips, member profiles, members’ classified ads (available free of charge), and reports on association initiatives.
